Stiff Little Fingers formed in 1977 in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Along with the likes of The Clash, Sex Pistols, The Damned, Buzzcocks, Sham 69 - they were there at the start of the punk rock movement. Inflammable Material still burning today!
They wrote initially about their own lives, growing up at the height of The Troubles in Northern Ireland, in songs like "Suspect Device" and "Wasted Life". In November of '77, they released those two songs on their own Rigid Digits label and sent a copy to BBC Radio One DJ John Peel, who started playing it every night.
These were the first of what became SLF's signature style: lyrics that meld the personal and political, music that combines the energy of punk with infectious hooks, and delivery that rings of honesty and commitment.
After 10 studio albums and countless tours, Stiff Little Fingers find themselves more in demand than ever. SLF are currently on tour to share their newest songs -- and their iconic early material -- worldwide.

My Favourite SLF song ! I have loved the band since I was 14 in 1979, I watched them tonight in my home CITY of Manchester, and they did not disappoint! Jake has gained a lot of weight over the years (which can't be good for his long term health) and he has shaven all of his hair off, (surely there must be a reason for this?) But his voice and guitar playing were 'Brilliant' , and the band are so tight! Great Performance! dx

Loved SLF, saw them in 1979 at the Apollo theatre in Manchester, I’ve seen them a couple of times recently, still brilliant 40 years later. When your 14 and not from NI you don’t understand politics and the messages in the lyrics, it’s only later you understand what they are saying. First 2 albums are up there with the best ever punk albums. Brilliant.
